Customer background

Established in 1983, Steves Auto Clinic has more than four decades in automotive servicing behind it. Day-to-day operations generate a steady flow of documents that need printing and scanning, and the speed and quality of that process feeds directly into how smoothly the workshop runs.

The Challenges

Steves Auto Clinic has been servicing vehicles for almost 4 decades, and the paperwork that surrounds that work is constant. Documents are printed and scanned throughout the day as a matter of routine, which means small problems with the equipment compound quickly rather than staying small.

Three issues were affecting that routine. Print speed was not keeping pace with the work, scan resolution was falling short of what the business needed from its records, and document framing on scans was inconsistent enough to require rework. None of them is dramatic on its own. Together, across a full day of use, they add friction to something that should be invisible.

The Oxbow & Fujifilm Solution

The requirement here was specific rather than general, which made the specification straightforward. Colour was not the issue. Speed, scan quality and consistent framing were. The FUJIFILM 5330 Multifunctional A4 mono printer was implemented on that basis: a high-speed, reliable device that delivers both fast printing and high-quality scans. Specifying a mono device where mono is what the work actually calls for put the investment behind the capabilities that mattered rather than spreading it across ones that did not.

Oxbow installed the FUJIFILM Apeos 5330 Multifunctional A4 B/W printer, a high-speed and reliable device capable of delivering both fast printing and high-quality scans. This solution addressed the client’s challenges with speed, resolution, and document framing, ensuring seamless day-to-day operations.

The Benefits

The three problems the business raised have each been addressed. Printing keeps pace with the work, scan resolution meets what the business needs from its documents, and the framing issue that used to require rework has been resolved. The result is that document handling has gone back to being routine. In a workshop environment where the paperwork supports the work rather than being the work, equipment that simply does its job without drawing attention is the right outcome, supported by the ongoing partnership between Oxbow and FUJIFILM.
